In this section we will introduce you how to create blurred stamp in Illustrator. It looks as if it is really stamped with the blur effect.
Even if you are not good at drawing, you can create a real looking stamp illustration with a help of the Shape Tool and blurring effect.
Have a stamp like illustration.
At this stage, it only looks like an icon. Group the object.
Use a brush. Select [Art charcoal/pencil -> Chalk]. Trace the illustration like the example above.
I used pink only because it is easy to see. You can pick any color.
For a blurred effect, we divide the appearance.
Select all the chalk line object. Divide the appearance of the chalk lines [Object -> Divide Appearance].
Select all the chalk lines and make them into compound paths [Object -> Compound Path -> Create]. Do the same with the stamp-like illustration.
To change the brush and stamp illustration layer orders, select the brush layer and move it to back [Right Click -> Stacking Order -> Send to Back]
Apply blurry effect on the stamp-like illustration. Select both the illustration and the chalk lines and click [Pathfinder -> Minus Back].
Now the illustration looks blurred as if it was really stamped.
I applied gradient color on the illustration above after applying compound path.
You can adjust the blurriness by stroking the brush in a different way and also by changing the brush types.
You can make it mono-color as you can always change it later. Gradient is a nice option too. You can do much more with different illustrations, be creative and explore.
