In this section we will introduce you how to create gradational background pattern in Illustrator. Gradational yellow and Hexagon pattern blend well in this design.
You can make this type of effect by changing Generate Mode of the top layer. You can do it with Photoshop but this time we will do it in Illustrator.
Open Illustrator and draw a rectangle using the rectangle tool as big as possible.
No line, fill it with any color.
Apply circle gradation on the rectangle.
Change the gradation type into circle. Set it like above.
Create another rectangle over the rectangle in Step02.
Select the rectangle. Go to [Swatch Panel (Window > Swatch)] > Click Top-Right Option > Open Swatch Library > Pattern > Decoration > Geometric Pattern1.
[[Geometric Pattern1] panel opens. Select beehive (double). Beehive (double) pattern is applied on the rectangle!
Next, apply Dodge Color on the beehive pattern [Clear Panel (Window > Clear)].
Dodge color is applied and the top beehive pattern and the bottom gradation blend well.
Now we have the gradational background. The gradation and background beehive pattern blend well.
You can create different effects by overlapping two layers. Try this technique for outside pattern designs too.
