In this section we will introduce you how to create a colorful dotted background (Photoshop). The coloring is cute and you can use it for digital collage or some accent when clipped.
You could also use it for frames and other purposes. Once you know how to make this background, it can be used for various things.
This time we will use art board sized <600px x 800px>.
Set it as [Generate: white / Background: black]. Select [Line Form Gradient] and drag while pressing Shift key until you get a little off the edge, about 50px.
This is how it looks when gradation is applied.
Go to [Filter > Pixelate > Color Half Tone] and set it using the example above.
Color Half Tone is applied. Dots are smaller where the color is fading and vice versa.
Create a new gradient layer, set it as shown above. Select [Generate: Screen].
This is how it looks when [Generate: Normal] mode is applied.
The gradation turned into dots when [Generate: Screen] Mode is applied.
Create a new layer and fill it like in Step02. This time, drag from bottom to top while pressing Shift Key.
Set it <Max Radius: 10> and follow the same step in Step03. This time we have smaller upside down dots. Select [Generate Mode: Different Absolute Figure].
This is how it looks when [Generate Mode: Different Absolute Figure] is applied.
Create a new gradation layer and set the gradient using the example above. Select [Generate Mode: Screen].
Done! We now have this cute background just by overlapping gradational dots. It became so colorful when we changed the generate mode in Step06.
I unionized the images and clipped. You can use them as small accents.
Dot size changes depending in the color half tone numeral settings. We also used generate mode and gradient in this tutorial so you can be creative in those aspects as well. You might create something unexpectedly good.
