In this section we will introduce you how to create text on creased paper.
We have seen arranging text on creased paper in Craft Paper Background Texture and Vintage Style Design. This time we will deform the text according to the crease of the paper for more realistic impression.
Have a creased paper image ready.
If you do not have one, scan creased paper. It is ideal when the crease is distinct.
You can also create this image like in Craft Paper Background Texture and Vintage Style Design.
Save the creased image file as PSD once. We names the file “shiwa”.
You can pick any name for the file, choose a name which is easy to remember what the file was about.
Insert text with any font. When arranged nicely, rasterize it.
We used Adobe Garamond Pro Font this time.
Select the text layer. Apply the setting shown above in [Filter > Transform > Displace]
Select the saved file from Step02. The text deforms according to the crease.
Done! The text is nicely deformed with the paper crease.
This looks more realistic than just placing plain text on creased paper. We used alphabet in this tutorial but kanji would be fun too.
The crease texture and font give different impressions. Certain paper colors give vintage like texture. Try this with different paper images.
