How to Create Luxurious Glossy Glass Background (Photoshop)

In this section we will introduce you how to create the luxurious glossy glass background in Photoshop.

This is a unique design which the glass is transparent and has reflections. Photoshop is an ideal tool to create such particular designs.

The technique is easy. The only steps are cloud pattern > waveform > gradient. It is easier than it looks. Please try.

Step01 Apply Cloud Pattern 1

Start Photoshop. Set generate and background colors default. Apply [Filter > Generate > Cloud Pattern1]

Step02 Apply Waveform

Next, click [Filter > Transform > Waveform]. A dialog box appears. Set the setting using the example above.

Step03 Glass Pattern Generated

Waveform is applied and the random glass pattern is generated!

Next, we will color the glass pattern.

Step04 Apply Gradient

Click [Layer > New Fill Layer > Gradient]. Set the setting in the dialog box using the example above.

Do not click OK yet.

Step05 Apply Magenta Gradation

Next, click [Gradient] in the previous dialog. Open the gradient editor.

Click ▶ in the pre-set and select Simple. Click magenta and click OK twice.

Step06 Set Generate Mode Burn Mode

Open the layer panel (Window > Layer) and set the gradient layer generate mode to [Burn Color].

The magenta gradation and the glass pattern blended in.

Step07 Adjust Brightness and Contrast

The coloring is a little too light so adjust it a little.

Set the brightness and contrast setting using the example above on Tone Curve Panel (Window > Color Correction > Tone Curve).

Now we have the glossy glass background. This is a very unique and Photoshop specific design.

The key factors are waveform and gradient. Glass texture can be generated by applying waveform on cloud patterns. Gradient can be blended in by modifying the generate mode. The shapes change by modifying the waveform values. Explore the features.
