In this section we will introduce you how to create the ink splashed illustration in Illustrator.
You can use it as an illustration as it is or for brush. The jagged parts might seem difficult to do but you can do it very easily with hexagons.
Draw a hexagon with Polygon Shape Tool.
* The size is shown just to compae the size of the <Crown Tool> brush. Once you know how, you can set any size you like.
Double click <Crown Tool> and apply the setting above when dialog pops up.
Cover the hexagon with brush. Click twice and make it jagged.
The hexagon turned jagged in a blink. You can already use it as a splashed ink brush.
Double click <Warp Tool> and input values. Make the size of brush big enough so that 2-3 anchor points can fit so that it would be easier to modify later.
Transform the jagged parts to strokes with Warp Tool. Drag the Warp Tool brush at anchor points like the example above. Repeat this action.
Change the values depending on the situation.
Done! This was actually easier than it looked.
The key to create beautiful strokes is not to transform them at once. Adjust the intensity of Warp Toll gradually when modifying anchor points.
I have arranged splashes on the art board. The splashes give a totally different impression to the mere brush fonts. The design looks more stylish.
You can save it as brush and use it or copy and paste the image and transform them individually.
We only used black ink but you can also use different colors.
