In this section we will introduce you how to create the splashing water background.
Unlike the still water texture we introduced previously(Photoshop: How to Create Water Surface Texture), this is an image of splashing water.
The only thing you need to is overlapping four filters. Please try.
Open a new file. Set [Generate Color: Black / Background Color: White] and apply [Filter > Generate > Cloud Pattern 1].
The white background turned into cloud.
We have applied Cloud Pattern 1. Now we apply [Filter > Blur > Blur (radial)].
The cloud pattern is blurred radially.
After blurring it radially, add another filter on top. Set the value [Filter > Filter Gallery > Artistic > Wrap] and click <New Effect Later>.
Do not click <OK> yet.
Wrap Filter turned the image more mysterious.
Apply [Sketch > Chrome] directly after clicking <New Effect Layer>.
The rough texture turned smooth.
Copy the background layer and disable the view.(Retaled articles:Know the Basic of Photoshop Layer)
Select the background layer. Adjust the contrast intense with the setting above in <New Brightness/Contrast>.
Display the copied layer and set [Generate Mode: Overlay]. Check on Color Unionization in <New Hue/Saturation> and adjust the coloring.
Done!
We only overlapped filters. The outcome varies every time as we use Cloud Pattern and that gives an interesting effect.
This is a newly created illustration.
Since cloud patterns are generated randomly, it looks different from the previous one. The key factor in this tutorial is to create a deep texture by overlapping layers and using overlay.
Changing values would create very different designs. Please try and explore.
