This is the explanation of how to correct the inclination of a photo. You may have experienced that a photo was inclined, though you were convinced to have taken it straightly.
A slight inclination may reduce the impression of a photo.
There are some ways of correcting the inclination, but this time, we would like to introduce a way to correct the inclination easily by using the ruler.
Open the image which you want to correct the inclination. Then push the dropper tool for some seconds to open the ruler tool.
Select a line of the criteria, and drag it along the selected line. You can choose either vertical or horizontal lines.
Once you drag, a line is drawn as shown above.
A horizontal line may be good for the criteria, but in this example, a fence was taken as the criteria.
Once you drew a line, open the dialog: [Image > Rotate the image > Input the angle].
You can use the ruler tool to draw a line. In this way, the angle can be inputted automatically and you can check the rotation direction. Click OK to correct the inclination of the photo.
The photo itself is still inclined, but the inclination of the image was corrected to be horizontal. But if the inclination is corrected, blanks will be generated.
Cutout the blanks made by the inclination correction using the cutout tool. As for the detail of the cutout tool, see How to crop photos 1 (Photoshop CS5),Know More about Photoshop Trimming.
Depending the image, you may fill the blanks in a way like How to Fill a Blank Made from Angle Modification.
If there is no mark for the criteria like a horizontal line, select any line with which you can refer to as the horizontal or vertical line. The good point of the ruler tool is that you can find out a horizontal and vertical lines easily. This is a very convenient tool.
