In this section you will learn how to insert texts and basic operations in Photoshop.
Character editing is easy once you know how, however, there are some tricky parts for beginners.
Start Photoshop and select [horizontal text tool] in the tool box.
Drag [horizontal text tool] on the part where you would like to place text and type text when the cursor is flickering.
When you are done with typing press [O] in the option bar to terminate the editing.
To modify the color or the size of the text, select the text using the select tool (check auto-select) and click [text panel] (window -> text).
In [text panel], you are able to modify text in detail; font types, thickness, size, indent, vertical/horizontal proportion, caps, and such.
(Retaled Articles:Know the Basic of Photoshop Layer)
Photoshop design is consisted of multiple layers.
See the layer panel (window -> layer). You can see that the layer of the text that was just typed is displayed. In Photoshop, a text layer is automatically created when you type in.
Let’s type more text for confirmation.
Make sure that the text layer of the newly typed text is created over the old layers.
You use the move tool to move text.
Select [move tool] in the tool box and check [auto-select] in the option bar. (By checking auto-select, the object selected by the select tool is automatically detected.)
Select the text you would like to move. You can move it anywhere by dragging it.
In Photoshop, you cannot re-edit by clicking the text with select tool or text tool when the editing is done. (If you are used to Illustrator, you might get confused about this.)
In order to re-edit already edited text, double click [T] of the text to layer you would like to edit or click the text with text tool.
Then the text is selected and you can start editing again.

In essence, Photoshop is based on layer. Remember to get back to layers when you are confused.
